The Letter

As I opened up this mail today, I realized, yet again, how extremely blessed I am.

Rex and I went to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital a couple of weeks ago to get another opinion for the very rare peritoneal cancer I was diagnosed with in September. While there, my doctors sent me for exams, tests, CT scans, labs, ultrasounds, and biopsies. I felt like a pin cushion...

Six days ago, my doctor at MD Anderson called to tell me the results. In addition to the peritoneal cancer, I also have breast cancer. After my doctor told me this, I thanked him for saving my life... The doctors and oncologists in Idaho and Utah were not thorough enough to find the breast cancer, which has spread to the lymph nodes. Needless to say, I will have all surgery and treatment done at MDA.

So here I am with two kinds of cancer before age 40, and I am thankful. I am thankful for this part of my journey because of the many things I will learn and the spiritual growth that will come from it.

And, I do so willingly.

My heart, soul, and mind are open and ready to receive every part of this lesson. And I thank God for that.
I am blessed beyond measure and my heart is full of gratitude. And, I will fight like a girl!!
